Mart-Matteus Kampus is an Estonian screenwriter writing character-driven genre drama for television, film and theatre.
Kampus works across film, television and theatre in English and Estonian. He writes character-driven genre stories, including psychological thrillers, crime dramas, survival narratives and darkly comic stories about people under pressure.
His television credits include the Go3 series The Last Border and Bussijaam, both produced by Ulm Productions. His series project Couriers has been in development and selected for industry presentation at RIGA IFF. From 2023 to 2025 he was a dramaturg at Paide Theatre, where his credits included Konsiilium and VÄLJAK.
His writing has been published in The Write Launch, NoiseMedium, Postimees, Teater. Muusika. Kino., Sirp and Minor Literature[s]. His screenplay Roots placed in the top 20% of the 2021 Academy Nicholl Fellowships and reached the second round of the 2022 BBC Studios Writers’ Academy.
Kampus holds an MFA in Writing for Stage and Broadcast from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London and is a member of the Estonian Directors and Dramaturgs Union.
